BELLADONNA AND A MOON

I got a kick out of this one. It doesn't take much to amuse me, especially since our neighbor got a doberman pincer that barks like a demon at our sons when they play in our backyard.

It would take one time for that dog to jump the fence and our 4 year old sons could be in serious danger. As the thing grows I wonder how much longer that 4 foot fence will be enough of a deterrent.

I was filling in the holes, last night, where the doberman is trying to tunnel under the fence, when I found some Deadly Nightshade growing up the fence. If you have some in your yard you'll want to rip it up. Two of the berries can kill a small child. That's the short of it. Click here to read the Wikipedia run-down.

Now that the weed is pulled up I think I may have some space to plant that shrub facing the neighbors yard. If only I were artistic.

Yikes I hope that Doberman sounds worse than it is. Neighbors can be so annoying sometimes... That shrub is hilarious. I would LOVE to hear about you having that in your yard!

I hate nasty dogs, too. If your neighbors refuses to control them, you can plant thorny barberry bushes along your fence line, about 2 feet removed from the fence. The bushes grow to be about 4 feet by 4 feet and are a great deterrent.

Thanks for the heads up on the nightshade! I hadn't realized it was that deadly.

We used to have a doberman and I absolutely adored her. However we took the time to train her. It could be any dog.. they can all be dangerous without proper training and love.

OMG that's scary! If it could kill a child it could kill a dog.

I live in the Detroit Metro Area. I've been blogging for 4 yrs and haven't found anyone in this area!

Thanks for the heads up.

Hmm...the Demise residence needs it's hedgerows cut. I was going to go with the usual gargoyle look but I might change my mind after seeing that picture.
